I understand how people interpret Mrs G's surprise to Lizzy's letter as her believing she and Darcy had an understanding.

I must ask though, with everything that was going on with Lydia and Wickham, just wondering where they would have found time to have an 'understanding'. Did they believe the understanding happened whilst they were visiting Derbyshire?
