Are you new?

Why do you find it unsurprising that Darcy got it wrong?

He comes from a background where he should, at least, have been taught how to court a lady, and if Lizzy hadn't been a lady Darcy considered so inferior, I don't think he would have acted the way he did.

If a man with Darcy's background really thought that the behavior he was engaging in could be dignified with the description "courting" it would surprise the heck out of me!
