What a clever similiarity of description to have noticed!   Written by Cathy Allen (6/6/2007 9:29 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Quote Chapter 43, penned by Carolyn
Are you new?

You are an eagle-eyed reader, Carolyn! Such an apt similiarity; thanks for calling it to our attention. This is only my second time reading P&P (I'm a mere novice, I blush to disclose!) and I'm enjoying JA's writing so much (again, I blush to disclose -- duh!). I noted the following description of Pemberley, which you also quoted above:

"...it was neither gaudy nor uselessly fine; with less of splendor, and more real elegance..."

It is such a clear, concise description. I marvel at the image JA painted with so few words!

I'm enjoying all your "Chapter Quotes" and am saving them as a document. Thank you for doing it!
