|"...they talked of Matlock and Dovedale....

I thought you might like to see some 18th century pictures of the places Elizabeth and Darcy talked of with such intensity.
I know you are all capeable of looking at the modern websites showing pictures of the Derbyshire Dales,but these pictures- showing the area how it was when Elizabeth viited Derbyshrie-,are a little harder to come by.
The first is by William Gilpin,and was inlcuded in his book, Observations on Cumberland and Westmoreland etc
This is of Dovedale.
The others are all by the famous Derbyshire painter,Wright of Derby.
