...that if Lizzy had Darcy in her power, that alone would cause her dislike to vanish.

Lizzy saw that she had Darcy in her power when he proposed, and and "her intentions [to refuse him] did not vary for an instant" -- so having him in her power alone didn't cause her dislike to vanish.

There may be other aspects of the issue of Lizzy, Darcy, and power yet to come, but I think that we can conclude as of Chapter 34 that Charlotte was wrong, can't we?
