Thanks for this wonderful informative post. Mrs. Austen's and Mrs. Lybbe Powys’s descriptions remind me of when I visited historical places, in use and ruins and also when I toured a glass blowing factory in Okinawa, Japan and watched glass flowers being made. The manufacturing process can be very interesting to observe just as much as a museum or fine home. It is sometimes easy to forget—knowing all this also brings JA and Lizzy's tour to life because I have done much the same. ;D
