I agree Karen 2L and it applies to Darcy all the way back to Chapter 3 when he insulted Lizzy at the assembly ball—he would have done very well to have kept his feelings to himself. Darcy has still not learned this gentlemanly lesson when he dwells on his scruples when proposing to Lizzy in Chapter 34. However in Chapter 35 his apologizing to Lizzy for opinions she will not like shows he finally has some inkling that the truth has the power to hurt. ;D
