As to why Lizzy walks in the park generally, I think it is because it is close and she enjoys the beauties there is to find there. What I meant in my post is that Lizzy was trying to avoid Darcy (who might be in the park.) After looking at the text again, Chapter 35, Lizzy was in the lane looking into the park rather than in it and that is when she saw a gentleman moving in the grove (turns out to be Darcy) and she tries to leave the area but he calls out to her so she must stop. ;D
