Darcy’s observations are a bit unreliable   Written by Robbin (6/1/2007 7:22 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, That Darcy had often seen ..., penned by Kathi
Are you new?

I agree Kathi--Darcy does understand Bingley’s feelings for Jane were more ardent than with previous ladies. I also think Darcy is not a whiz interpreting what other people’s behavior means in the male-female arena so I take his accusation that Bingley had often been in love before with a grain of salt. Darcy misinterprets Lizzy’s feelings towards him and Jane’s towards Bingley. Darcy may have attributed more to Bingley’s previous behavior than there was because his friends’ attentions are more obvious than his would be. ;D
