... Bingley in love before was actually irrelevant, because he admitted that after observing Bingley closely at the Netherfield Ball, he "could then perceive that his partiality for Miss Bennet was beyond what I had ever witnessed in him." Darcy did know that this was different, not just another one of Bingley's many infatuations.
