Being established at Ramsgate   Written by Sansanee (5/29/2007 12:13 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I don't think that France, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

Wonderful details - thank you, Julie!

>He could not have forseen that what was supposed to be a happy interval for his sister- straight from school enjoying the delights of a summer at a quiet seaside resort under the care of a trusted servant- would end in her near disgrace.

I did wonder about why Georgianna would have been set up with an establishment at Ramsgate, instead of coming home to Pemberley for the summer. Was this trip done as a brotherly gift for Georgianna? To provide her with a more lively, entertaining summer by the seaside, as well as for her health? Would she have been finished with school at this point, and so the stay in Ramsgate was also a sort of graduation gift from Darcy to his sister?

Also, since Colonel Fitzwilliam is also Georgianna's guardian, would he have been involved in approving the plans for her summer?
