have been offered (nor I daresay, expected!) Lizzy at this point has such confidence in her opinions, her judgement, etc. and she very nearly mocks (in my humble opinion) Jane for "making allowances for differences in situation and temper" yet just a bit later, makes those same allowances for Wickham. Granted, Miss King may not be as ridiculous as Mr. Collins, but Wickham's design are wholly mercenary (as E later acknowledges). I just think this is a prime example, even without the later realization, of E's prejudice, simply because she doesn't agree with something.
