How would a second opinion help?   Written by Tracy W (5/27/2007 5:14 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I can now offer this evidence, penned by John S2
Are you new?

How would a second opinion have helped Darcy, given that he seems to be in the can't-live-without-her stage (my feelings will not be repressed)? And why do you think Darcy was acting "reasonably" or thinking "reasonably" in falling in love with Elizabeth, or in deciding to propose to her?

(I put "reasonable" in quote marks, as I think Elizabeth would make Darcy an excellent wife if she agreed to it, but clearly Darcy at the time of his proposal in chapter 34 was rather more conflicted on that question than I am. Oh, and the quote's from chapter 34.)
