...to find that Darcy had been frequently seen by Lizzy and Charlotte in Hertfordshire could also reflect uneasiness on LC's part as to the ultimate marriage of Darcy and Anne. After all, LC has observed Darcy and Anne together for many years, and if she has seen no more mutual interest than Lizzy does in Chapter 31, then LC may not be nearly so certain as she might be that Darcy is thinking of marrying her daughter.
