Sitting at the bottom of the table   Written by Adrian (5/24/2007 12:30 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Chapter 29 has to be the funniest chapter so far!, penned by Cathy Allen
Are you new?

Since it appears that Mrs. Bennet sits at the head of the table in her house...

...on this happy day she again took her seat at the head of her table
(Ch. 50)

...is it possible that the designation of head and foot have reversed between JA's time and our own and that Mr. Collins assumed he was being honored with the seat of the departed Sir Louis de Bourgh (as opposed to LC wanting Mr. C as far away from her as possible--LOL)?
