the reasons you state. This seems to confirm an idea that anger is white. While possibly red might be guilt? Shock? Shame? Not sure, but Wickham could have been all these and/or embarrassed.

Glad JA put that proposal clue in, because it's a tricky one!

I looked back to the initial post, and realised the only way I could associate the white with Darcy at the time was through imagining it matched because both he and white are mentioned first, in the order of the text.
