...about Charlotte. I do not find it at all out of character that Charlotte is thinking about the future, thinking about how she can maximize future advantages.

I've always thought, though, that it was out of character for the very sensible Charlotte to think that it would be likely that Lizzy would use her influence with Darcy to get a living for Mr. Collins.

Is it unreasonable to think that Charlotte was thinking into the future, if not of a son, then of a brother or future brother-in-law?
