I should have highlighted the above and included the latter.

The non-stupid young men of Elizabeth's acquaintance have disappointed her to some degree (however slight to E), giving her a reason to think more highly of stupid men.

Mr Bingley misled her sister, Darcy was proud and disagreeable and even Wickham, who abandoned her for Miss King's money.
