Are you new?

We know that Mr. Collins is a keen gardener - and I would assume that this is vegetable gardening.

There were no freezers and transport was slow, so most people grew a lot of their own vegetables and were virtually self sufficient.

We know they keep poultry and pigs, so I would say that a cow or two to provide milk for drinking, cheese, butter etc would be likely.
