I agree with you that marriage can and often does lessen the bond between friends. I do think however that Lizzy looses respect for Charlotte and is not just distanced from her by the insertion of a husband with a higher claim on her attentions than Lizzy. I think the loss of intimacy and confidence between them is enhanced by Charlotte’s choice of husband. ;D
