in consequence of the missive, Good question - I think it's just that..., penned by Line
...my first reaction is, Lizzy is a 21 year old girl with a lively and mercurial personality, it is not at all strange that she should have varying moods, thoughts and feelings in regard to romance which, when aligned side by side, seem contradictory. She's a young girl in the flush of a lot of complicated feelings which have been brought on by the sudden arrival in the vicinity of not one, but two young men who have both, in complicated ways, gotten under her skin--and who, in addition, have a complex and emotionally charged relationship with each other which is puzzling her exceedingly. PLUS she has been recently coerced by her mother about marrying a doofus she absolutely is not interested in. PLUS her beloved sister is in love with one of those other men's best friends.
Is it at all surprising, under all these circumstances, that Lizzy might be beset by a multitude of mixed feelings?
