We already have evidence that Mr. Bennet is a lousy correspondent. Remember the original letter from Mr. Collins that Mr. Bennet felt was so important that he sent a reply after *only* two weeks(!)? I think it's Mr. Bennet in particular who dislikes writing letters, not Regency gentlemen in general!
