Question about the Gardiners children   Written by Michaela (5/20/2007 6:07 a.m.)
Are you new?

I do not understand the following: On the stairs were a troop of little boys and girls, whoses eagerness for their cousin`s appearance would not allow them to wait in the drawing-room, and whose shyness, as they had not seen her for a twelvemonth(!!!), prevented their coming lower.

The Gardiners had visited the Bennets just before for Christmas at Longbourn - I can`t imagine the parents celebrating Christmas without the children???
