I thought Caroline was objecting to the name, "Cheap" side, for what I thought were obvious reasons, but not so. Good to see the real meanings of the word, "Cheap" as in old English meaning market. Makes sense of many things, this post, and it's not as if the scene at Gracechurch Street was that terrible, ("lofty buildings" and wide streets!)it just wasn't as grand as Grosvenor, for obvious functional reasons! Fascinating post;-)
