I believe I understand Charlotte's reasons for marrying Mr Collins. No one has produced any reasons that she did which I have not already considered. My whole argument is directed at whether she was right to marry Mr Collins, which is a different question. This may explain why debate on this topic is so frustrating.
But to change the topic, do you think you understand why Elizabeth was so disapproving of Charlotte's marriage? When Elizabeth states:
I am not asking now if you think Elizabeth was right, simply if you think you understand her reasoning. (And perhaps, with some selfishness of my own, do you think my arguments as to why Charlotte is wrong help explain Elizabeth's beliefs to you?)
