Are you new?

so I researched it: I can find no commonly accepted phrase from this era similar to Mrs Bennet's. I really don't think it was in common usage at all.

I think it indicates rather the limit of Mrs Bennets geographical knowledge...l;ets keep a look out for other references, shall we? ;-)
