Something I picked up in the...   Written by Moni (5/14/2007 12:42 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Darcy like the Bingley Sisters?, penned by B. Michelle

notes in my P&P novel which is interesting, is that Caroline calls Lizzy a "too familiar" "Miss Eliza", which is actually meant in a derogatory way.

However, Darcy calls her "Miss Bennet", a courtesy which would normally be reserved for Jane, who is the eldest. It says that Caroline calls Lizzy that because "she resents Darcy's courtesy" bestowed on Lizzy, who ought normally be called "Miss Elizabeth" by him. Does anyone have similar notes?

If this is so, it would mean Darcy is actually quite different from the Bingley sisters in manner. He does seem to please where he chooses, but in this manner, it seems a large compliment to Lizzy.
