The meaning of the word "scheme"? Written by Line (5/14/2007 8:17 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Charlotte is a manipulator with a heart, penned by Robbin

I may be wrong about this, but I believe the word "scheme" has a more neutral connotation in British English, than it does in North American English, where it has a decidedly negative connotation! Of course, meanings may have changed again since JA's time. Can anybody help us out here?
