Fair to Lizzy…   Written by Robbin (5/13/2007 7:21 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Perhaps she *is* laying the groundwork..., penned by Line
Are you new?

Charlotte is fair to Lizzy; I agree very much! (;D) I think unlike Mrs. Bennet, Charlotte understood Lizzy would never accept Mr. Collins. At the Netherfield ball Lizzy told all her griefs to Charlotte and “was soon able to make a voluntary transition to the oddities of her cousin, and to point him out to her particular notice.” To me this means Lizzy made sport of Mr. Collins which was finally ended as well has her good humor by having to dance with the man himself. His preserving near Lizzy despite her efforts to pawn him off on any other young lady would have, I think, suggested to Charlotte that Mr. Collins had serious intentions towards her friend. After this Charlotte must have known Lizzy did not care for him and would never accept him. ;D
