...just in case, but what I noticed this time around is that Charlotte not only hears about Elizabeth's refusal from Lydia, Kitty and Mrs. Bennet, but also from Mr. Collins himself in ch.20 (by a little subterfuge). She also hears him officially declare that he is now withdrawing his suit. Whatever her faults, Charlotte is scrupulously careful to be fair to her best friend!
