Furthermore Wickham is saying Darcy is this to the rich   Written by Tracy W (5/13/2007 6:18 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Um, how is Wickham supposed to know..., penned by Line
Are you new?

What's the saying - "if a person is nice to you and rude to the waiter they're not a nice person"?

There is a big moral difference between someone who is uncomfortable in all social situations (or all social situations involving new people), and someone who can be pleasant and kind if they think it's worth their while. The first person is probably simply lacking in social skills, the second is a snob.

Wickham is not saying nice things about Darcy in this description.
