That is an impressive menu! I can't imagine having to prepare, or even oversee, such an extensive menu. I wonder with all this food if there was much waste, or were there just small amounts of each dish, or did the servants eat the leftovers, since there was no refrigeration? I'm particularly curious about the names of some of the dishes! A hare jugged? Rabbits in surprise?
Would fish impress guests because it was fragile, therefore more expensive, or difficult to get?
