As I posted before, many more people than just Shakespeare linked music and love, or poetry and love, and yours is an example of the more positive association that I'm used to. (Isn't Google a wonderful thing? ;-) Come to think of it, whenever I've heard that Shakespeare quotation, it's only the first part that I've heard: "If music be the food of love, play on", with the more negative second part left out. It's possible JA may have meant something by referring to a source that ends up being more negative about love, but I don't think so.
P.S: Could you provide the link again? I don't see it. :-)
