I think it is Wickham and Denny together... Written by Arnie Perlstein (5/7/2007 10:41 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Why would Wickham be walking up and down for an hour?, penned by Line

...because we actually are told that Wickham and Denny "turn back", plus the visit by the Bennet girls and Mr. Collins sounds like it takes about 15 minutes, not an hour.

I agree there is something peculiar about Denny and Wickham doing this--are they simply killing time, waiting for Lydia to show up?

There could be other explanations, but that seems the most likely at this stage of the story, based on what we know.
