Was it a sign of excellent taste...   Written by Moni (5/7/2007 11:32 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, An awful object called Darcy, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

or status to be/act bored in that time? That sort of elegance of doing nothing kind of thing? Is that what you mean, Robbin? Is Darcy doing the bored (aristocrat) type thing and expecting to impress people with it? If so, we can tell Lizzy is not impressed.

I also can't tell properly because there is so much "rivalry" passing between the two of them, how much Bingley really believes what he is saying, or if it's a kind of to show Darcy's benefits. He says Darcy is a lot taller than him, and seems to feel less because of that.

(This "awful - aweful" thing reminds me of the Juvenilia GR, I don't recall which work, but I remember the pic, with the man all surrounded in a glow of awe, like he had tickets on himself. Do you remember it? I am not sure if we are allowed to discuss Juvenilia here, but I wonder if you recall it?)
