"Commonplace Book" (the similar item to) example that was posted earlier, it makes sense she would have followed this guidance word for word. She seems to have made it her personal belief system. This comment shows perhaps to be part of the Fordyce group you had to adopt his doctrines fully, no half measures:


"Go, thou trifler, and be ashamed of thy folly.-"

Perhaps the verses in the Commonplace Book were written and intended to be read aloud, in such a way as to train the out loud reading thing, as well. It seems a strict kind of practice Fordyce is putting forth, here. Almost like a rigourous training manual of how a young woman "must be", emphasis on the "must"!;-D
