higher degree of excellence   Written by Michaela (5/6/2007 4:01 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mary's pedantic air and conceited manner (Chap 6), penned by Lia
Are you new?

I understand, that she plays the music without any emotional impact; as a big music-fan I know this can only hold my interest, if the technical level is really very very high - which Marys is not, as this quote tells us - otherwise a performance on a much lower level of technical difficulty but played with feeling is much more enjoyable.

It doesn´t say that it would hurt a higher degree of excellence more than it hurts her performance, it says it would even hurt in that case.
