I wondered   Written by Jean B (5/4/2007 5:12 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Darcy and Bingley, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

If Jane was telling us maybe that Darcy was attracted to his opposites and might envy them that easy openess, but I noticed the last line of your quote, "though no disposition could offer a greater contrast to his own, and though with his own he never appeared dissatisfied", so he doesn't seem to want to be less reserved, he just seems to be attracted to it.

I hope we come back to this when we get into the later chapters after all of the characters are introduced.
