An amusing scenario but -   Written by Mandy N (5/4/2007 6:43 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Shark infested waters, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

I believe Silvia O's post refers to Darcy.
My response was in response only to Darcy and Meryton women.

In another post I referred to Mrs Bennet recounting every one of Bingley's dance partners to Mr Bennet- and I'd still love to know all the girls Bingley danced the Boulanger with. ;D
So Mrs Bennet's attention is fixed on Bingley, yes.
But did I mention Bingley in above post ? No.

Great post- I've wondered before why Mrs Bennet brought up the Sonnets to Jane. lol !
Yet it doesn't apply in context of how Darcy's 'misanthropy' influenced his behaviour at the Assemby.

Catch of the day ? Despite his haughty behaviour, one of Darcy's complaints at Netherfield was from none had he received attention !
Further, that statement in ch.1 is an amusing exaggeration, a mixture of irony and truth, imo.
Yet true in regard of Mrs Bennet husband hunting Bingley. ;)
