Ch. 7 Jane's violent cold...   Written by Moni (5/4/2007 6:02 a.m.)
Are you new?

Keen to find out if an apothecary was the doctor of all things, or whether various methods were chosen from, when people were sick. Was there doctor and apothecary?

The apothecary says Jane has a "violent cold" and promises to make up some "draughts" for her. What would the particular medicinal thing he makes up for her do, or be?

From the treatment, immediately JA says the symptoms got worse, feverish symptoms and headache, etc. and Lizzy had to stay with her. Was it designed to make her feel worse before better?

Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I found myself wondering...;-)
