Collectively   Written by abdullyne (5/2/2007 9:45 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Bingley sisters' fortune, penned by Emmy
Are you new?

I understood "They.... had a fortune of twenty thousand" to mean between the two of them, they had 20,000. If each had 20,000 would there not have been a qualifier somewhere in there? I guess as the structure of the section refers to them collectively, I took the sum as belonging to them as a unit as well. Or am splitting hairs? I hope this makes sense, as this is getting a bit confusing for me. :)
