My take on it   Written by Kathi (5/1/2007 10:54 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Valuable neighbors, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

I noticed that phrase this time as well, and what I thought it meant was that a more intelligent woman would not have enjoyed Mrs. Bennet's company, enjoyed gossiping with her, etc. That is, Mrs. Lucas was not so much more intelligent that she could not get pleasure from spending time with Mrs. Bennet.

What do you think? Does that make sense to you?
