I agree --   Written by Kara M (5/1/2007 4:33 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Darcy is shocked to find he was wrong…, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

There is nothing to indicate that Darcy is mortified by his behaviour - just he is just mortified that his judgement was in error. The dismissed her automatically only to see her value later.

I think everyone has experienced meeting someone the first time and just sort of dismissing them. Then realizing after getting to know them a little better that they are worth knowing after all and our first impression was formed on inadequete information and perhaps colored by a poor mood or general discomfort.

It really is to Darcy's credit that he admits his error in judgement not only to himself but to the rest of his party as well. Too bad he does not modify his behaviour in general at this point.
