The latter refers to your research, Julie - and the facts, both. If only the powder did no great harm, I'm inclined to commend Mr Newbury for publishing children's books. Wonder if he made any profit from them? Were they very expensive or would Mr Bennet have been able to get some for his daughter..s do you think?

I'm short of time, but lurking to see what is talked of and to enjoy your information.
