Did not mean to accuse you of really believing JA is lying   Written by Tracy W (4/30/2007 10:08 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, We'll try it again..., penned by Mandy N
Are you new?

I was just trying to indicate the contradiction I see between JA's statement in chapter 4 and the Bingleys being descended from a long line of merchants, and trying to understand how you reconcile the two ideas. To be precise, for me to believe that the Bingley family was a long line of merchants would require me to believe either that Caroline and Louisa were "more deeply impressed" by a family in trade, or that JA was lying.

Anyway, having hopefully explained that I was not intending to accuse you of believing JA is lying, I will stop here. Except to say I love the word "Binglettes", and unless you say otherwise, may I copy it?
