I really think this statement is an example Written by Kara M (4/30/2007 2:36 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Chapter 7 question.., penned by Felicia

of how closely people are watched in Meyton and how easily the information gets around. Gossip plays a big part of the story - already we have the gossip on Bingley's fortune, family and activities, Darcy's fortune and we know where the officers hang out all. And as we have already seen, gossip can be very inaccurate - as in the case of Bingley's party for the assembly ball.
