Mrs Bennet and Caroline Bingley... but I feel that this is assumed from the very first paragraph of the book. Part of my message was simply the knowledge that husband-finding was an economic necessity for most women at that time. To make an analogy... there will be many more applicants for a extremely well-paying job than a low-paying one.
