I think Darcy.... Written by Lisa M. (4/30/2007 12:14 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Darcy and Caroline Bingley, penned by Kat

realized Caroline Bingley's attentions to him and he wanted to discourage her. I think he was somewhat perverse in letting Caroline know it was Elizabeth that he admired, as he had to have known that this would mortify her. However, I do believe Caroline had a very good opinion of herself and that it did not cross her mind that anything would result from Darcy's admiration of Elizabeth due to her low connections, etc.
