Definately not the behavior of a gentleman or gentlewoman   Written by Marilynn (4/30/2007 12:11 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, What's so preposterous ?, penned by Mandy N
Are you new?

All I am saying is that we cannot judge Mr. Darcy by this one episode. We have all been in uncomfortable places and situations and been judged too hastily. I, myself, had once been to a dance which made me entirely uncomfortable and being a very shy and reserved person had an awful time. Although I initially went to experience and meet new people, I stuck with my own party and did not meet anyone new and probably came off as very smug, stand-offish, and rude. And I don't think there is a person among us, no matter how well raised, that has not made a comment at someones expense to make oneself feel better.

However, I am glad that you will give Mr. Darcy the opportunity to redeem himself. :)
