Taking the lines.....

Mr. Bennet to Mrs. Bennet: ..."I had hoped that our sentiments coincided in every particular, but I must so far differ from you..."

Is JA quietly telling us that **Mr.** AND Mrs. Bennet are just as silly as the girls???? Am I reading more into that quote?
